Description

Universal Cavity Wall Weep Vent Black Masonry Perpendicular Joint Ventilator

This Universal Cavity Wall Weep Vent is a preformed duct designed to replace an open perpendicular mortar joint, providing effective ventilation and drainage within masonry cavity wall constructions. It helps prevent moisture accumulation by allowing trapped water to escape while maintaining airflow within the cavity.

Manufactured to meet N.H.B.C guidelines and standards, the vent features a specially designed baffled grill and body that help reduce the ingress of driving rain and wind. The grill opening is engineered to minimise blockage from water droplets, paint, and debris while helping prevent large insects from entering and nesting within the cavity.

Suitable for both traditional masonry and timber frame construction, the vent should be installed in open perp joints and mortared into position. Recommended installation spacing is no greater than 900mm centres, although N.H.B.C guidelines advise installation at every 450mm maximum, with at least two vents positioned above doors and windows.

With a free airflow area of 90mm², this cavity wall weep vent provides reliable long-term ventilation and moisture control for residential and commercial building applications.

Applications:

  • Masonry cavity wall ventilation
  • Timber frame construction
  • Above doors and window openings
  • Moisture drainage and airflow management

Installation Guidance:

  • Fit into open perpendicular mortar joints
  • Mortar securely into position
  • Maximum spacing: 900mm centres
  • N.H.B.C recommendation: every 450mm maximum
